There are days Sophia Murphy doesn't leave her apartment. Some days it's all just too much, and the real world is too big for her to exist in. In the solace of her apartment she doesn't have to meet people, or avoid their eyes, or touch them. In her little space she can be completely alone. She likes being alone.
Today though she's getting a little antsy with being alone in her apartment, and she has decided to venture out. She pulls her thick leather jacket on over her t-shirt and jeans, then slides her feet into her boots. Somehow these are a comfort to her. They help her feel protected and safe when nothing else does.
Sophia knows her father is in New York, and she knows that he wants to see her, but she doesn't want to see him. She doesn't want to talk to him. She's tired of his reasons and excuses. It's always about him and his pain and his drinking, and she's tired of it. She knows what it feels like to want to drink all of the pain and memories away, but she doesn't because of him.
So today she is leaving her apartment, her anxiety and worries aside. She's walking through the city with her arms tight around herself, and she's finding her way to a local art fair. She'll wander around and look at things, maybe look for someone she knows. Mostly she's just there trying to put herself in the real world.

Maddie is waving at the girl, trying to get her attention from behind a booth. She and Tegan are both in town and Tegan is holding a sale of some of her original stuff.. Maddie, being a good aunt, offered to help out.
"C'mon, come here, just for a minute." She's not really sure how to sell art but she's giving it a try. She figures the first step is to get someone to stop and look at it and that's what she's trying to do.

"Me?" She asks. She's hesitant at the unknown of talking to a stranger.

She beckons for her to come closer and, if she doesn't, she'll leave her alone but she figures it's worth putting in the extra call, just in case she might be brought over.
I just want you to take a look at some of this," she explains. "I'm not the artist or anything but I know her and you seem like the kind of person she'd get along with."
Which is only a partial lie. If Tegan didn't get on well with most people, it would be a total one.

She smiles. "These are really nice," she says softly. She isn't going to comment much on who she might or might not get along with. She doesn't really expect to get along with anyone usually. Over all people just scare her.

They're all a bit scattered right now, though, each wandering off their own way to what interests them in the art fair. Abby is examining a lovely, if incredibly abstract, painting when she looks away to stretch and notices Sophia in the crowd.
She slips away from the painting she's looking at and towards Sophia, calling out when she's close enough to be heard in the crowd. "Sophia!"
[OOC: When you said you wanted to play with them as friends I assumed you meant friends already. If this isn't what you mean, uh, poke me and I will change this comment. XD <3]>

"Hey," she says brightly. "You're back." She doesn't have a lot of friends, but she's always happy to see them. Especially when she hasn't seen them in a long time, like Abby.
{ooc: And I meant to say: Yes! I am fine with this! I meant it either way :) <33}

"I'm okay," she says. Just okay, but okay is something. "How long are you in the city? Is Chicago good?"
no subject
"Chicago's great. Crazy, but great. I'll be here for a week at least, though. Maybe longer. I don't think we've decided yet," she says with a grin. "We'll have to steal you away for a day or two, though."
Or just come visit and stay in with her. She doesn't really care what they do, she just wants to spend time with her.

"I bet your family is happy to see you," she says. She knows she is. "Who knows, maybe you'll decide that you just can't bear to be away from any of us." And her small smile turns into a teasing grin.
This is why Abby is good for her. She can get silly and teasing around her.
